Unit Duties / Information: The airfield at Oberon was constructed as an auxiliary landing and take-off strip for No. 33 Service Flying Training School(SFTS) at Carberry which was opened _____. The creation of this extra field provided a decrease in the amount of time spent at No. 33 SFTS by students. In this manner, they were prepared for operational training units and, consequently, for placement with overseas units.
