Norman was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, just about twenty-one years ago, he attended Falls View Public School and the Niagara Falls Collegiate Institute. His first posting was at Manning Depot, Quebec, subsequently training at
Toronto [No. 1 I.T.S.] and Windsor [No. 7 E.F.T.S.]. On August 28th, 1942, he graduated as Sergeant-Pilot at Aylmer, Ontario, [No. 14 S.F.T.S.] and was posted to Bagotville, Quebec, for operational training. Norman arrived overseas on December 6th, 1942, and has seen action in Gibraltar, North Africa and Egypt, and because of splendid services rendered, was promoted to Flight-Sergeant and recently attained the rank of Pilot Officer.

Chevers has been appointed to a Commission and joined the Squadron for duty as an Officer today.
