His first posting was at Manning Depot, Quebec, subsequently training at Toronto [No. 1 I.T.S.] and Windsor [No. 7 E.F.T.S.]. On August 28th, 1942, he graduated as Sergeant-Pilot at Aylmer, Ontario, [No. 14 S.F.T.S.] and was posted to Bagotville, Quebec, for operational training. Norman arrived overseas on December 6th, 1942, and has seen action in Gibraltar, North Africa and Egypt, and because of splendid services rendered, was promoted to Flight-Sergeant and recently attained the rank of Pilot Officer. [see newspaper photo and compared to graduating class photo for placement in Course No. 2 or No. 3]; No. 403 (F) Sqn (RCAF) Lashenden 10-8-43 Sgt. Chevers and Sgt.
