- On 18 January 1942, 26, RAF Students arrived from No 31 Personnel Depot, Moncton, New Brunswick for this course.
- Wings were note presented for this course. Students had to complete additional training at a Bombing & Gunnery School and an Air Navigation School to qualify as an Air Observer.
- On arrival at N0 3 Bombing & Gunnery School, MacDonald, Manitoba there were only 24 Students on Course 42. It appears that there were 2 failures or students held back for future courses.
