Notes
- While building this page I looked into to Toronto Barker Field which appeared initially to have been located at roughly at the same location. I asked a few questions and found that the former Barker Field was located just South of the 401 on the north-west corner of Lawrence Ave W and Dufferin St only a couple kilometers south of the location of Downsview. Bruce Forsyth wrote an article documenting some of the history of Barker Field it can be found at this link.
- It appears that this was the site of both the De Haviland plant and the home of the Toronto Flying Club prior to and during the war. The RCAF opened a station at the site post war.
- I also received some information from Rae Simpson. The DeHavilland was originally at the north end. The newer DHC facility at the southwest corner was built when the RCAF took over most of the facilities at the northwest.

Would you know if Downsview had a radar installation and from what date? I’m researching radar, esp. in Canada.
