My name is Nan (Johanna) Spencer. I am the daughter in law of Ervin Eugene (Bud) Spencer RCAF R173981. Died October 20,1943 of severe head injuries a few hours after the Short Stirling “Lulu” crashed while on an air test outside the Village of Ipsden, Oxfordshire , England.
Bud attended Mont-Joli No 9 B&G School from October 11,1942 – April 16,1943. He was in Course No 48 Air Gunners, Class “22”
Graduation Banquet booklet has him listed as E.E. Spence. It should have read E.E. Spencer
I have been told that Bud was injured in a training accident. Is there a record in the Mont-Joli RCAF records saying that the accident happened while he was stationed there? If so would I be able to receive a copy?
