Some Comment from the Author about the book
From Bob: “As a long time 104 enthusiast, let me introduce myself to the members as I recently joined the group. I grew up in Montreal and during my teens was working for a flying club at Cartierville airport where Canadair was located. I was there through the the production of the 104, F-5 and Tutor and took photos of most of the individual aircraft. When I was 19 I flew a Cessna 205 to Cold Lake for a photography visit at the height of 104 operations.
I have finally completed my first major book titled Canadair CF-104/F-104G Roll Call that has 351 pages and more than 600 photos, most very rare. The roll call section has a photoshop of all 340 Starfighters Canadair built plus the 38 Lockheed duals, with informative captions for each aircraft.
Cold Lake has always been my favorite RCAF base, but not easy to access from Montreal where I used to live and now live in Guelph!
I was fortunate to work part time/full time during the 60s and early 70s at Cartierville airport next to Canadair that gave me the opportunity to photograph nearly all the military jets Canadair was building, including the 104s, F-5s, and Tutors.
In 1963, I flew a Cessna 205 from Montreal to Cold Lake while building flying time for a Commercial pilot license and it was at the height of Starfighter operations. There were 97 aircraft there when I visited! Starfighter heaven it was! There were more 104s there than at Luke AFB where the German 104 training was done!
My second trip to Cold Lake was in 1968 and was ferrying a Cessna 310 from Fort Smith to Cartierville and stopped in at Cold Lake. Nowhere near as many 104s left what with crashes and some 40 relocated to Europe.
Then in 1974 I spent several days in Cold Lake and flew an evaluation flight on the 104, plus a practice bombing mission at Primrose Lake, and ferried one to Winnipeg, then Trenton and then Ottawa. Best week I ever spent in my flying career!
Last time I was in Cold Lake was 1983 at the last Maple Flag the 104s were in and the first with the CF-18s.
So it’s been 62 years since the arrival of the CF-104s and I don’t imagine there are that many people around Cold Lake from that era, but there may be still an interest in anything Starfighter!

Pricing:
The cost of the book in Canada is $105 including HST. Shipping by Canada Post is $24.50 for 1 or 2 books when ordered together.
If ordered from the US, cost is $100 Cdn plus shipping which is about $40-45 Cdn
Anywhere in Europe, cost of shipping is unbelievably high, about $140 to $165 depending on the shipper. I have sold several to Europe but they were to the real 104 enthusiasts and who could afford it. So anyone from Europe, I suggest email the Aviation Mega Store in Amsterdam who is selling my book and they will find a much cheaper shipping cost.
