• First day of the month falls on Sunday with good weather and a promise of more in store.
• R.C. and Protestant Church Parades held in forenoon.
• Word was received from Edmonton this morning that ACe Coghlan, R261675, one of our General Duty Airmen placed second in the finals of the 50 yard swim event at the Alberta Swimming Championship.
• Our men’s softball team lost the second and final game against Lethbridge Breweries for the Southern Alberta Championship. Final score 7-4. Seems highly probable that the Brewery team had more “Hop” on the bill.

• Weather good and clear.
• Headquarters squadron P.T. and Drill parade and Sports held in afternoon.
• New beer quota for the month of August received and woe and betide us, is somewhat smaller than last month. Hope it’s not so hot this month.
• Our senior W.D. Officer, Section Officer Raitblatt V30069 placed on another well deserved ring on her promotion to Flight Officer.
• F/L Osler also received his promotion and henceforth shall be S/L Osler.
• C.O. held his first Staff Officers! meeting for special lectures today. These lectures are to be carried out weekly by section heads and specialist officers in order that the remaining staff will appreciate the other chap’s job.
• Today is the day to roll out the riding habits, with the arrival of six horses (apologies to Whirlaway) to inaugurate the Circle FIS Ranch and Riding Academy. This sport should prove very popular with all the prairie to ride around in. Tentative plans going forward for stand-up lunches to ease the pains of our would-be equestriennes,
• The W.D. ward in the Station hospital opened today. (this and the horses seem like fate.)
• Legion picture show in evening rounded out the day.

• Airmen’s Mess Committee held their semi-monthly meeting today.
• Pilot Officer W.E. Williams (B.E.M.) (C26527) arrived on the station to bolster our Engineering Staff as Technical Adjutant.
• Musical evening held in Legion Hut in evening.
• Station cricket team worked out this evening.
• Captain Epstein, our very popular dentist, posted out to No. 19 S.F.T.S., departed this evening. Captain Brett replacing him, from Macleod.

• Weather unusually dull.
• W.D. ensign raising parade held this morning.
• F/L Jenkins, Fire Prevention Officer, from Noe 4 T.C. arrived on temporary duty to carry out his periodic check of the station.
• Legion picture show failed to arrive and the station orchestra promptly filled in with a dance for airmen and airwomen in the Rec. Hall. Was a great success and more Wednesday nite dances are planned for the future.
• Our soccer team defeated by Claresholm 2-1.
• Another station weiner roast planed for tomorrow night, if the weather clears up.

• Weather poor with very heavy showers in morning. Cleared nicely in afternoon.
• Graduation parade for course No. 81 held at 1430 hours on the Station Parade Grounds.

• Evening wound up with the Station Weiner Roast going over with a bang.
• Weather turned out very good notwithstanding threats from the Met. Section that great clouds were hovering over the appointed place of rendezvous anxious to shower down upon all lovers of hot dogs and mustard. A huge bonfire was lit and a sing-song took place the like of which probably hasn’t been heard in this prairie since the days of the last Indian Potlach.

• Ensign parade by personnel of Headquarters squadron.
• C.O. carried out inspection of Mtce. Squadron. .
• W.I.T.P. started at this Unit.
• Station boxing team is getting lots of practice in evenings. ,

• Weather continues to smile upon us with continued sunshine.
• New course arriving today.
• Our senior medical officer is again on the warpath after hearing the rumours that bugs, bed, had invaded the student officers quarters.
• Great activity also apparent from Student’s viewpoint.
• More spoils from our victory garden today. Harvested no small amount of peas, beans and lettuce.
• Maintenance headquarters and Repair Squadron moved into No. 4 Hangar this morning.
• Regular Saturday night dance held in Rec. Hall for Airmen and Airwomen was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

• Weather good.
• Regular R.C. and Protestant Church Parades held in morning.
• Calgary Chinooks girls softball team arrived to play our W.D.s for Central Alberta Softball championship. Both games were won by the visitors, but off the record tough, luck lost the games to us and next year the answer will be much different.
• Finished the day off with a victory dance for the visitors in the Rec. Hall.
• The Chinooks departed with fond memories of the hospitality of Pearce, especially the food, which they claim is the best they not only have eaten, but seen for a long tine. Ah, pity the poor civilians and their ration books

• Weather still good.
• Headquarters Squadron Drill and P.T. parade held in the afternoon.
• C.O. carrying out inspections of various sections of the station.
• No. 7 S.F.T.S., played a tie soccer game with us this evening. Final score 2 all.

• S/L Kempster, C.E.O. # 8 B.&G, School, Lethbridge visited our maintenance section,

• Officers’ dance held in Mess.
• Airman’s dance also held in Rec. Hall,
• One of our W.D.’s, L.A.W. Wysochynski H. W308344, timekeeper in the flights, hit the high spots in the Calgary Herald of this date – See appendix “A.”

• Unsettled weather, Very strong winds, Very little flying all day.
• Church parades carried out in the morning.

• Weather clear and cool,
• Airmens’ kit inspection 1430 hours.
• Cinema begins operating in afternoons for the benefit of personnel on night duties and early flying schedule,
• S/L Anderson C2682, and civilian representatives for Cornell and Rangers visited the station from # 4 T.C.
• Our fire department detachment at Granum, our relief field, saved the hotel at that town from destruction this afternoon, by prompt action when fire broke out.

• Weather clear.
• Maintenance Repair Squadron started a full day shift and have done away with night maintenance.

• Weather clear.
• An Airmen’s dance was held in the Recreation Hall. The Macleod Orchestra was in attendance. It proved to be very popular.

• Weather clear and mild.
• The station was visited by the Inspector General, Air Vice Marshal Croil, G., (C.65) C.B.E., A.F.C., and Air Officer Commanding No. 4 T.C., Air Vice Marshal Howson, G.R., MC. (C.33) all day.
• Our men’s and ladies softball teams played Macleod, the men winning their game and the girls on the short end of a 3-2 score. The W.D.’s entertained in their canteen following the game.

• Weather clear and mild.
• All other routine normal.
• “Pearce Patter“, our new Station magazine makes its first appearance since our arrival from Vulcan. – App “B.”

• Weather clear and warm.
• S/L Kergan, our Accounts Officer, left on posting to No. 11 E.D., Calgary.
• The C.O. returned from leave today.
• Airmen’s and airwomen’s dance held in Rec. Hall.

• Weather clear and warm.
• The C.O. departed for No. 4 T.C., Calgary, to attend Commanding Officers Conference.

• Weather clear and warm.
• The Ladies Auxiliary visited the station during the afternoon. Lunch and dinner was served in the mess and following this a tour of the station was carried out.
